With increasing curiosity, she watched the boy on the beach, his eyes resting with ease on a remote horizon, focus directed inward on some undetermined vision, disposition filled with innocence and… wonder. Absorbed in a world of his own making, he appeared unaware of her presence… or perhaps not. She sensed ripples echoing through subtle vibrations… tangible… palpable… as he expressed thought through the seven planes of existence. Geometric structure fired into life, particles within substance aligned to fulfil its purpose and order was established. His invitation to play was joyously received by those who were ready to respond to the call. She knew this, knew the process had begun, knew the vision was soon to be reality.

Esmerelda watched in wonder as she witnessed thickening in the air between the boy and the point of his vision… echoes of intent bore fruit to unite ether with matter and, as if by magic, that which was not of this world materialised right before his eyes. Dancing in and out of waves, turning somersaults through the air and emitting joyous, ‘clicking’ sounds unique to them alone… came the pod. And then, as fast as they appeared, they were gone. The boy walked nonchalantly away… it was another perfectly ordinary day in paradise… She turned to Mentor and smiled. “Now do you understand how easily a thought-form may become reality?” they said. “The important distinction, in this case, is that the origin of thought was

not the lower mind, such as we experienced in our last session. The boy, inspired by curiosity, was merely playing; there was no emotional charge, no grasping, no needing to fulfil a lack in himself. His demeanour was one of wonderment, pure joy of being. He was in the presence of Absolute, so all appearances he knew to be an expression of this – and only this.”

"Therefore, ‘magic’ was as natural an occurrence as a walk in the park,” she responded, excitedly. “But what if he had wanted a repeat performance?” she continued. “What if he had wanted them to come closer or perform certain feats in order to prove he had manifested his vision?” “If an emotional charge is attached to any thought-form,” Teacher reinforced, “even though its origin may have been pure at the outset, the lower elemental aspect is introduced to create a new cyclic process with desire as its origin. The dissolution of a thought-form is as important as its creation, so once it has worked out its purpose, it must be allowed to return to its point of its origin – substance. In other words, to follow the example of the boy, celebrate then let it go. Always return to substance, for it is consciousness who directs the show, not you.”

“So true cosmic ordering is a non-ordering, with no grasping or wanting!” she exclaimed, and then reflected, “It is an expression of joy in celebration of that which has already been given.”

Guidance

Cosmic ordering is nothing to do with the Law of Attraction, even though its principles serve as a foundation. As the script says, true cosmic ordering is a non-ordering. Not only is there an absence of grasping, wanting or needing, but there is no one, no self, no

identity doing the asking – not even in the case of ‘ordering’ for others. Ask and you shall receive… but first, you must step out of the way.

Ever since The Secret by Rhonda Byrne was published in 2006 the world (or so it seems) has been consumed by a storm of 'change your life' gurus, life coaches, and such like, whose mission is to assist you in manifesting your heart's desires using the principles extolled in the book; namely, the Law of Attraction.

"...you'll learn how to use The Secret in every aspect of your life - money, health, relationships, happiness, and in every interaction you have in the world. You'll begin to understand the hidden, untapped power that's within you, and this revelation can bring joy to every aspect of your life."

This quote, extracted from the book's blurb, presents as a very attractive, life-changing opportunity to live a life of abundance - whether health, money, relationships or happiness (and everything else in between) is your desired outcome - and there are a multitude of testimonials 'proving' how well it works to back it up. Its ethos is, quite simply, 'as you think, so you are', and it serves very well as a tool to empower individuals to 'wake-up' to the full magnitude of who, and what they are capable of, and to stop depending on others to fix everything for them. A worthy ambition, and not to be dismissed lightly, wouldn't you agree?

However, as Esmerelda learned through observing the boy on the beach, there is far more to the Law of Attraction than manifesting wants, desires or needs; it is multi-layered, and at its ultimate level "cosmic ordering is a non-ordering" where the desires of the small self are non-existent. There is no small self, or ego, so how can personal desires be created? Or can they? A bit more about the Law of Attraction might be in order.

Firstly, the 'Law of Attraction and Repulsion'* is its full expression, not the conveniently truncated version extolled by the Secret and many others 'in the know'. Not quite so attractive now is it? Consider the qualities of a magnet (this Law is magnetic in nature) - it attracts and repels - without both qualities it would not be a magnet! How it works out through the planes of existence is by virtue of magnetic and repulsive qualities interacting with each other that Spirit may be expressed in matter; the Soul, as intermediary, 'attracts' light qualities to itself by means of magnetism whilst Spirit 'repulses' all that doesn't serve that end, simple! It works just the same way in daily life. Focusing on manifesting your desires harnesses the power of the personality to create the reality it wants, not necessarily what is best for it from the perspective of the Soul.

"Esmerelda was beginning to get the picture. “So as energy follows thought, if I were to create a thought-form to manifest a desire or dream, it may be fulfilled but it will also charge an elemental that I may not be aware of?” “Exactly!” Mentor exclaimed. “It is not real and at some point will be taken away. Using the power of thought in this manner only serves to keep you enslaved in the desire body. If you were to use the true qualities of mind you would imprint thought-form without agenda and ensure its origin was consciousness, not mind.
