Artist's Journey
Early spring in the UK coincides with the
full moon of the Buddha in Taurus (Wesak). I
love this time of year when fresh forms
burst into life following apparent death
during the deep sleep of
winter. The world is bathed
in crystal clear light accompanied by flashes
of vibrant colour and nature herself in all her
glory greets each day in celebration of this
constant cycle of destruction and renewal.
It is this cycle, as well as contemplation of the
fourth ray that inspired release of these three
drawings. The dandelion, often regarded as a
common weed, has
the most exquisite, radiant and joyful
yellow flower epitomising, for me, all
that is light within the fourth ray of 'Art
and Harmony through Conflict'; a photo of
one such flower formed the foundation (see
photos) upon
which I assembled all the 'Taurus' elements
mentioned above.
'Aspiration' was the first image to appear and
it was whilst fine tuning it the third
aspect emerged. I christened it 'Harmony' as the energy it portrayed
left me feeling quiet and still inside; I love
the vibrant colours of 'Aspiration' but 'Harmony'
offers some respite and equilibrium
following intense activity. Even though I
believed the sequence to be complete I
continued to play with these creations,
taking them apart layer by layer then
re-assembling them in a different order
using variant blending properties. This was
when 'Eureka!' miraculously sprang to life.
This was the 'essence' of Taurus I had been
trying to create from the outset; I was
dumfounded! After much tweaking and 'trying'
to make it all fit together a simple click
of a mouse provided the magic ingredient for
the 'Art' aspect of the fourth ray to be born.
